You will
work with and share experiences with travelers from all over the world, you
will need to offer excellent customer service to people from all over the
world. An average sea day on board is like a busy Saturday on the high street,
hard work but fun, rewarding and exciting.

will present new challenges, understanding your role as just described and
pursuing it with commitment will ensure you have the time of your life.
Life
on board
Life at
sea is unique. You could be working and socializing with up to 60 different
nationalities, you will hear many languages, accents and dialects before you
even visit your first port. Compatibility within Starboard’s team as well as
fellow crewmembers is essential to our successful partnership with the ships
crew. It is important that our retail team collaborate well with each other in
and out of the shops. Your assignment is to become one of Starboards
ambassadors at sea!
Your ship
will be your work place and your home away from home for the duration of your
6 month contract. Cruise ships are often compared to large floating hotels
directed by the Hotel Manager who is responsible for all service areas,
including Starboard gift shops. Your status on board is classified as “staff”.
This allows certain on board “deck” privileges, however keep in mind that
these employee privileges will vary from ship to ship. In your free time take
advantage of the places your ship will visit, the Mediterranean is the largest
part of our business but you may be lucky enough to experience other exciting
locations including the Caribbean, the Baltic or South America.
Your
accommodation (cabin) is shared (same sex, one other person) and provided at
no cost to you. All meals on board are provided at no charge, no more cooking
or rainy trips to the supermarket.
Earnings
do vary from ship to ship, as much of your actual pay is commission based.
Quite simply the more you sell the more you will earn. Your earnings will be
paid cash in hand and remember you pay virtually no living costs. Not only a
fantastic way to earn but also a brilliant way to save.
Requirements:
· good
knowledge of English
· be
at the age 21-35 years old
· have
minimum of two years retail experience
· be
in good health
· have
a valid passport
· be
physically fit and drug free
· be
ready to commit to us for a full 6 months contract
· be
open-minded, flexible, have customer service skills
Program includes:
· Monthly
salary of $500 + commission (in total about $1500 per month)
· Employment
contract for 6 months
· Accommodation
and meal
· Medical
insurance is provided for all employees “signed on the vessel”.
This insurance is not in force when employees sign
off the vessel for
vacation. Employees in transit from one vessel to
another are covered.

· Uniforms
at the beginning of each contract with the exception
of footwear. You are responsible for the up keep
of the uniforms.
